Laser Writing Spin-out wins Start-up Award

Winners of the 2019 Enterprise Awards announced

Department of Engineering Science Spin-out Opsydia (co-founders Professor Martin Booth and Dr Patrick Salter) wins Oxford Tust Start-up award. The company has developed ultra-fast laser writing technology to create features inside transparent materials such as diamond. 

On Wednesday evening, The Terrace at Oxford Brookes was buzzing with local entrepreneurs, innovators, big business and key movers and shakers involved in science and tech in our region for the 2019 Enterprise Awards. A highlight of The Oxford Trust's year, the Awards are run in partnership with Venturefest Oxford and sponsored by Mark and Clerk, Barclays, Oxford Innovation, Advanced Oxford and product design company Triteq.

This year's winners include a business that is enabling the next generation of satellite services, a pioneer of genetically-engineered pest control, a company that's developed a fully industrialised diamond marking system and two entrepreneurs who have developed a software platform that is helping to improve cancer screening and diagnosis.
